Jobie: Who needs friends when I have books?

Jobie a quiet jackalope that doesn't like to get into other people's business. She likes to keep to herself and isn't seen very often because of her shyness. Though she is very quiet upon meeting someone, once she warms up to you she will be a friend for life. Though she doesn't have too many friends, the ones she does have are her very best friends who she would give her life for if need be. She is very protective of a particular jackalope, Govindo. He is like a kid brother to her and she can't live without the little guy.
A habit of hers is to read, if she ever happens to get her hands on one of the human's books, which isn't too frequently. She does have a few books hidden in a trunk that are very well worn and well read. More than anything Jobie enjoys curling up with a good book and reading the day away. On days like this she simply stays home and doesn't like to be bothered.

Timothy: Don't tell me what to do!

Timothy has always been a stubborn jackalope. He doesn't like to be reprimanded by anyone, including the ones he is currently living with. If he does something wrong he doesn't admit it, even though every one else knows that he did it. He gets angry when confronted; it is typical to leave him alone about it.
Though he is stubborn and proud, there is a part of him that wishes that he could accept being wrong. He hates his past and what his father did to him. Tim never learned that a little criticism here and there never hurt anyone. It was just his father coaching him into being the stubborn jackalope he is today. And if he didn't listen to what he was taught, Timothy was beaten or starved for a few days.
But once he met Dove, his life changed. He became somewhat less stubborn and cares about her more than himself. He wants her to be happy and would do anything for her. He wants to tell her his feelings, but his stubbornness won't allow for that show of weakness... yet.

Cade: Don't worry, it's not contagious.

Cade is very sensitive to light and tends to stick to the shadows of the night. His red eyes are the most sensitive part, causing him horrible headaches when out in the sun to long. He is also very fragile and sickly because of the lack of sunlight her receives. Though he tries to harvest the grasses and other plants rich in the vitamins he is lacking, it just isn't the same as the natural sunlight.
Other than his sensitivity, Cade likes to keep to himself. His condition is a very sensitive topic for him, so it's best not to bring it up in front of him. He goes out at night to explore and collect his herbs and other things he needs to keep in his system. He is kind of stand-offish when around others, but don't let his attitude trick you. He's just a guy that wants to be accepted despite his differences.

Sophia: Do you need some help?

Sophie was raised by a group of elderly humans that found her out in the wild. She was taken care of like a pet, but as she grew up she felt the need to get out on her own. It was rough for her to leave her loving home, and it was also rough to be out on her own in the wild. For the first couple of months she had trouble locating food and shelter, but as time went on she learned the ropes of the wild. She soon located a burrow to live in where she stays with several other 'burrow mates' as she calls them.
Since her time in the wild, Sophie has become a slightly less pampered, spoiled pet. Sometimes she has an air about her that she is better than the other jackalopes because she was raised so well. She also tends to be a know-it-all. But other than that she is very loving and caring. She likes to help others, but sometimes she is a little too helpful.

Govindo: Play with me? Pahleeease!

Govindo is a very playful jackalope. He loves to go out to the meadow or forest and just play. He loves chasing butterflies and digging holes as well as swimming. He is very innocent and has very had a bad experience so far in protected life. The jackalope that he live with keep him very well protected from the outside world because they don't want his child-like demeanor to be ruined. They feel you can only be a child once, even though he is way past child-hood. But Govindo doesn't realize this. He is just a grown buck acting as a child, though not in an obnoxious way. Well, maybe sometimes.

Phoebe: The night sky was so pretty, when I could see it.

Phoebe has always had an obsession with the moon, stars and other aspects of the night sky. Though she cannot see them, she has an assistant that helps her with the task. Her assistant, Dove, observes the sky and tells Phoebe what she sees. Phoebe takes notes, as does Dove. Then Dove will read the notes out loud. Once in a while Phoebe is able to make a prediction from their readings of the stars. Pheobe's obsession started when she was a kit and able to see. The sky at night had been beautiful to the young female. She has been studying it ever since. Phoebe is usually calm, but sometimes she is very rigid. Times like this are hard for her and Dove because it is hard to communicate with the moody aelur.

Ever since Dove was little she wanted to do something with her life. Simply existing was not good enough for her. As she grew up she was always trying to outdo her siblings by doing the most chores, learning the most, ect. As such, she grew up into a very smart, hard-working jackalope. One of her key interests were the stars that she saw in the night sky. They were so mysterious and once of her favorite fields to research in was astronomy. Year passed before she discovered the aelur, Phoebe, who also had an interest in the night sky. Dove became Phoebe's eyes for watching and observing the night sky. By helping Phoebe, Dove finally felt she had a purpose in life. Dove is very gentle and tries her best to cope with Phoebe and her mood swings.

Helios: What is life?

Helios is a quiet observer. He feels a connection with the sun, but he isn't sure why. All he knows is that it calls to him. When he was a kit he was given the necklace of the sun that hangs around his neck. His mother gave it to him, that's about all he remembers. He spends his days lying in the sun and contemplating life and his purpose. He isn't one to go on adventures, but he is drug into them by others when they run into him when he is out.

Samantha: What does this do?

Samantha is a very curious jackalope. She likes to go exploring and to meet new creatures as well as discover new things. She is constantly on the move and hates to be idle for long. She likes to talk, although she knows when it's time to be quiet. She is also very caring, even with strangers. She always thinks the best of people, though sometimes that backfires on her if she meets someone that is not to be trusted. But she always says there is some good in everyone including the criminals and other evils out there.

Mary is a little rebellious, to put it lightly. She doesn't like to listen to what she is told. She also likes to argue and yell when she is upset. She gets annoyed by the littlest things and is always on the kick that 'everyone hates her', which is not true.

Violet is an unusually sad jackalope. She tends to mope around and nine times out of ten is pessimistic about situations she is put in. But she can't help it. As a young jackalope she had been abused by her father, and her mother was never around to stop it. She was always alone with no one to talk to, she often spoke to herself. As an adult, she is very jumpy and doesn't trust anyone.
Violet's best friend is Nicu, a rather up-beat fellow she met shortly after her previous mate hit her. Violet had run out of the house crying, and hadn't seen the orange and black fellow. She ran right into him, and she was afraid. But instead of hitting her, he held her as she cried. Shortly after their initial encounter Violet decided that Nicu was a good, trustworthy friend that she counted on. But he is the only one who has gotten past her walls as of now.

Patches: You think that hurts? How does this feel?

Cold, cunning and cruel are good words to describe this jackalope. He may not look it, and his name certainly doesn't sound it, but he really isn't the sweet little thing he looks like. His thoughts are dark and twisted, as are his morals. He likes to harm others, although he doesn't get the chance often. He also likes to plot. Plotting to steal, plotting to take over Greystone from the humans, things like that.
Patches was once with Violet, and he is one of the reasons she is the way she is. He treated her horribly, making her feel worthless. But it didn't bother Patches. Oh no, she just boosted his ego that much more. Now that she has run away from him and is spending time with Nicu, Patches is furious at her. Since he doesn't think he did anything wrong, he doesn't understand why she ran away. He is always looking for her, and won't rest until he's found her or he dies trying.

Nicu: Watch the fur!

Nicu is a rather up-beat fellow. He enjoys dancing and cheering others up with his constant chatter and good looks. At least he thinks he's good looking anyway. It may not always be the opinion of others, but it doesn't really matter to him what others think. Truthfully he is a little vain, but he likes to joke about it, throwing around comments like, 'Watch it, you'll ruin my coat.' Then he snickers and lets it drop. He's a goofball and not too serious most of the time.
His best friend being a depressed female, Nicu is always there for her and trying to cheer her up. Deep down he likes her much more than just a friend, but he knows that Violet doesn't want a relationship with him. If he brings it up she just tells him she doesn't want to ruin their friendship. Nicu always just brushes the refusal off. Most of the time he manages to get along with just being friends, but sometimes he wishes she would let him show her how a real guy treated a girl, not like all those males she had been with before.

Tula is often seen at parties dancing. She loves the loud music, dancing, ect. that parties have to offer. She is often seen as the center of attention. Flirting is a favorite past time of hers, and she often gets what she wants when she does so. Speaking of getting what she wants, Tula is very spoiled. She was always granted the best clothes, make-up, dolls, you name it, when she was growing up. When she doesn't get what she wants, she throws a fit until she does. But she is also a master at black-mailing when she doesn't get what she wants.

Bobby: What's the purpose?

Bobby never knew his parents. When he was born he was separated from them because of a huge fire and never found them again. His adoptive mother took him in only to abandon him later. He was left to fend for himself, but was never taught how to fend for himself. He was left to steal and scavenge to survive. He often hung around the town of Greystone where the people lived to get their scraps of food they threw out. He was constantly on the run from other and never had any friends. Since then, he has become extremely suicidal.

Neasa: I-I did that!?

Ever since Neasa was a young kit she has been doing things she doesn't remember. For example, she would break something, but not remember doing it. Her parents accused her of lying, but in all honesty she couldn't remember. Since her younger days this problem has progressed into something far worse. She will black out and commit a murder and wake up the next day without any recollection of doing it. She would have blood all over her fur and hear about the murder on the news. It worries her, and she wonders if she is the killer, which she is. Even after cleaning herself off, the blood stained her pure white fur. Other than her slight problem, Neasa is a very nice jackalope. She is sweet and always helpful.

Christopher: You have to be better.

Christopher is the older brother of Dove and Julia. Although he is the eldest, he doesn't act as older brothers usually do. He is a big bully, often pointing out his sister's flaws and trying to make them better. He isn't nice about it either. And he tends to pick on Julia more than Dove, as Julia is the youngest of them and easier to manipulate. Dove is more independent and sure of herself, and therefore a much harder target for Chris. He is actually insecure about his own image, but he would never admit that. He chooses to be mean and close himself to others.

Julia: I have to deal with it.

Julia is very insecure and quiet. She is easy to manipulate and her brother Christopher is very good at it. Dove tries to talk her sister into not taking his bullying, but Julia doesn't now how to stick up for herself. She is easy to walk over. She doens't like that she is always picked on and bullied, but she can't do anything about it. Her brother is her brother, after all.

Billy is a little off his rocker to say the least. Sometimes he appears normal and rational, but he is constantly at war with craziness. He is able to control his crazy side for short periods of time, but not for long. He usually doesn't make much sense, and is hard to have an actual conversation with.

The Beast: What are you looking at?


The Beast was born within the depths of Oddin's Peak. He is one of the plagued creatures who escaped from the crack in the temple. Growing up from the light of day he is very sensitive to light, but can tolerate it. Now that he is free from the depths, he has found his own burrow where he keeps several other jackalope as his servants. They have no way of leaving, as he would chase them down if they try to escape. But many stay merely because they pity his deformed state. He has quite the temper and a terrifying appearance when he is mad. He is also very feral in his ways of eating and communicating. He also tends to be self-centered and bossy. He is insecure about his appearance, and treats all visitors as if they have come to mock him and stare. He acquired his bad habits because he was kept away for so long, but now that he is out with contact with other beings, he has begun to develop nicer emotions. If given the chance, he can learn to be gentle, or even kind and charming.

Angela: Keep your head up!


Angela never expected to spend her life living in a burrow with the Beast, but she never expected to find such a pitiful creature either. She lives in the same burrow as the Beast, and is somewhat of the housekeeper. She cleans up after him, cleans in general and supervises the other maids that are about the burrow. She came across the Beast when he first emerged from the crack, and showed him kindness. Angela found him a place to live, although she may not approve of his rudeness and other bad habits, she pities him for being deformed the way he is. It's not his fault. She shows him kindness and often serves as his conscience to remind him to try to be kind, and counts him as a friend, although she refers to him as Master, because she is more a servant than anything else.

Hayim: I can fix it.


Hayim was found by Angela out in the wild and immediately taken into the burrow she shares with the Beast. When he was found he was weak from starvation and lack of nutrients. He had grown up within the walls of the burrow, and when he was well enough he began to take on odd jobs around the place. He is the handy man, so to say. He fixes things up when needed, but if there is nothing to be done he stands guard at the main entrance of the burrow to make sure no one enters. But he is compassionate, and will let sick, lost or even curious strangers into the burrow.
